Is Legacy Ranch Beef antibiotic free?

Yes it is antibiotic free! In fact, all beef in the United States is antibiotic free. It is in fact illegal for meat products to enter the food chain if they’ve been given an antibiotic and have not been through the allotted withdrawal period. Legacy Ranch Beef does not require that cattle never be given an antibiotic at any point in their life. In order for our producers to provide the highest quality of animal welfare, we believe that if an animal does get sick, we should allow our ranchers to administer proper vaccinations and antibiotics to help that animal get healthy. Only after going through the proper withdrawl periods would that animal ever enter the food chain. Animal welfare and human safety is our top priority, always has been and always will be.

Is Legacy Ranch Beef grassfed?

In short, no, our beef isn’t grassfed. In detail though, our cattle are fed in feedlots that prioritize animal welfare and provide the highest quality nutrition possible. Corn is an essential part of that diet. Cattle have a great ability to digest and turn it into high quality protein. The energy corn provides allows cattle efficiently grows. Highly trained nutritionists develop rations with high quality roughage, protein, energy and minerals. It’s like having your own personal nutritionist!
